Why choose Us?

PAIN RELIEF, RELAXATION AND REGAINING MOVEMENT Nat's unique combination of Swedish massage and Fascial RestructuringTM techniques (targeting the underlying root cause of pain) unwinds dysfunctional patterns of compensation and allows the body to move with more ease and less pain.

Nat graduated with honours from the Algonquin College Massage Therapy program in 2004. With over 19 years of working experience in Ottawa, including many hours of specialized training in several unique approaches, Nat is proud to bring her skills, dedication to care and desire for community connection to the Oxford Mills/Kemptville area.

Nat is fascinated with the proper movement and functioning of the human body. She looks at the body as a connected system - from scalp to toe - and considers its history, to create a treatment plan designed to release adhesions and compensations that limit movement and cause pain.

Nat uses her intuitive knowledge of the body, combined with deep Swedish Massage and Fascial RestructuringTM techniques to release the underlying - and often overlooked - sources of pain, thus allowing the symptomatic (painful) areas to relax and resume normal function.

In her free time, Nat enjoys playing soccer, reading, walking the dog and spending time with her husband and children.

Treatment Approach

Our bodies are strong and resilient, yet our tissues can hold the physical and emotional traumas of decades past. Poor posture, overtraining, surgeries and the body's miraculous ability to compensate can intensify these imbalances and inner dysfunctions may increase over time.

Wherever there is inflammation, adhesions (stuck layers of tissue) will follow. Every adhesion that forms will contribute to the distortion of the body's normal alignment, as well as decrease the body's natural resiliency and flexibility - this is a cumulative process, both as a factor of time and number of injuries/inflammation. Our bodies then compensate for these distortions causing stiffness, loss in range of motion, painful muscles and joints, and a cycle of chronic re-injury, inflammation and adhesion, especially for those leading active lifestyles.

By viewing painful areas as a symptom of compensation rather than the actual cause of pain, and using a thorough injury history/postural assessment, Nat designs a treatment plan to efficiently release the deep root causes of pain and stiffness in each individual body.

Nat also has a keen interest/focus on woman's pelvic health - Specifically, how adhesions within the abdominal layers, hips and lower pelvis can alter the proper movements and functioning of the pelvic organs causing a myriad of symptoms and even affecting the circulation of blood flow to/from the legs. Abdominal/pelvic release is done over the sheet and can also aid in relieving low back/glute pain.

These approaches are combined into all standard massage treatments when the need is identified, resulting in remarkable and noticeable function differences.
